I haven’t had a chance to work in my studio for weeks. So since it’s Saturday night I stopped by Nocternal and got a delicious drink I added a little extra too for a fun creative evening throwing mugs!!

I haven’t had a chance to work in my studio for weeks. So since it’s Saturday night I stopped by Nocternal and got a delicious drink I added a little extra too for a fun creative evening throwing mugs!!

These old closed in windows were cool before but they needed some life. So I made some birch lights and put grow lights in them so I can have one of my other favorite hobbies in my studio, house plants. I still need to make some nicer planters for them. It has been at least a month since I brought them in here and I see new growth so I think they like it here!!!

My first finished kiln load after a 6 year hiatus. I didn’t know if my kiln was still working properly or if it would get up to the high temperature it needed to so it was exciting and the results were unpredictable to know what would happen. But this kiln of mugs and lights for my studio turned out beautiful and I am so happy with the results. I have already changed my mind on new mug shapes and handle shapes and my next batch of pottery is already different. But this is a beautiful exciting blessing. #pottery #handmadewithlove❤️ #passion #forthehome #relearning

I was cleaning out a closet in my studio last night and there were some papers that were left behind by the old owners of the building. I’ve seen them several times over the years and I decided to actually look at them last night and I was so suprised to see in this 50 year old group picture my Dad was a part of the group. He died 28 years ago. I don’t know how the picture got to this building or why it’s been there for so long or why I didn’t look at it until last night but it made me feel very emotional and like I am in the right place and doing the right thing.

It’s been 6 years but I finally got back into my studio! I wasn’t sure if I would ever work with clay again but when the final moment of moving my kilns out of my studio I remembered all of the fun I had, how therapeutic it is for me to work with clay. And how much I enjoyed sharing it in classes with others and sharing my creations with others. It’s going to be a while before I sell anything. Right now I’m working just for myself, and for the biggest honor ever, my girls asked me to make them some pottery for their home and apartment. But one day I will probably sell work in stores, boutiques, and galleries again. And I’ll teach some classes at some point too. So I hope you all enjoy watching me knock off the cob webs and remember how to make my art again. And we will all see what my new style will become because I’m a new person than I was 6 years ago I’m sure my work will reflect that.
